Cannot get a normal speed
Let't take it as a 56K modem, and it cannot get 56K speed
1. Actually, the highest speed of the 56K Modem only can be about 53K, considering all kinds of effects, the normal speed of 56K Modem is between 45K~53K .
2. The transmitting speed of Modem is mostly affected by the telephone lines .If the lines are not good and the line voltage is not stable,56K Modem could not be up to 56K;moreover,the internet speed is also affected if we surf the net with the network extension.
3. The driver is installed incorrectly.
4. The Modem is different from the agreement ISP uses. Only when the Modem and the ISP agreement are in line, that Modem can be up to 56K standard.
Excluding the reasons above, if your 56K Modem is far slower than 53K, maybe the problem is in the hardware of your Modem, you could think about changing a new Modem or send it to repair.
The Modem easily loses the internet connection
A: Check the telephone line. If the telephone lines are not working well, you may have such problems.
B: If the ineffective time of the DTR signals is longer than that set by default, which would cause the computer missing connection..
C: If your telephone has the "waiting for calling" function, once there is a call, Modem will be interrupted and apart the connection.
C: Furthermore, the quality of Modem itself and the compatibility between different Modems also can result in Modem's missing connection.
