| Driver Backup |
First, we should know why the driver backup is so important to us.
Device Driver is a program for device and computer communications. Without proper drivers, your computer can not work; without drivers being kept in step with the Internet development, your PC may encounter a series of problems, like buggy and poor to perform devices. So drivers play an important role in the system. Generally speaking, the operating system will install driver automatically after the hardware device is added to the computer, such as hard drive, monitor, CD-ROM, keyboard, mouse, and so on which does not need to install driver. But display, sound, scanner, camera and Modem will need driver installation, which are very important device. If the one of these essential drivers is not working, you will have to go a long way to get it back without a quick access. So driver backup turn out to be very convenient in recovery.
The most vital thing to backup is an effective tool which can help us save a lot of time and energies. I use the Driver Checker 2.7.3 (People who have installed it can use this function for free.)
Step 1: Open Driver Checker on your computer. Click here to download it if you don’t have one.
Step 2: Click on the Back Up button, select the drivers you want to back up and click on the Next button.
Step 3: Choose the folder you want to save the backup and then click Next button. Please try not to save in the system disk in order you can get them back even you have rebuilt your computer.

Step4. Click OK to complete the driver backup.

How to judge that you need to install the drivers after reinstalling your system?
Different versions of operating systems support different hardware devices. The newer operating systems, the more hardware devices will be supported by them. Such as Windows XP, it has most of the drivers built inside which make you free of installing too many drivers manually after reinstalling the computer. But before you reinstalling your system, you don’t know which driver needs reinstalling. Backup is definitely to be necessary to take precautions before it is too late. Generally, if you found no sound, poor picture display, or not access to the Internet after reinstalling the computer, you can think about the driver is not installed.
Of course, a more scientific way is to check the Device Manager to see whether there is sign. A yellow question mark indicates that the hardware can not be recognized by the operating system. An exclamation mark refers to the hardware driver is not installed or not installed correctly.
Entering the Device Manager: Right click My computer>Properties >Hardware >Device Manager

Step1. Open the Device Manager.
Step2. Right click the bad driver and click Update Driver…
Step3. Select ‘No, not this time’ under the Hardware Update Wizard and then click Next button.
Step4. Select ‘Install from a list or specific location(Advanced)’ under the Hardware Update Wizard and then click Next button.
Step5. Select ‘Search for the best driver in these locations.’ > ‘Include this location in the search’ under the Hardware Update Wizard and you have to enter the right directory in the box. Click Next button to start installing the driver.
Step6. After refreshing your system, you will find the question mark has gone and you can do the same operation to fix other driver problems.
Note: Backup files are too many to identify them sometimes, so you have to make sure that you choose the right driver file to execute the installation. If you have made a mistake, there will an error message. Try again more carefully and you will make it. If you still have the CD that you got when you bought your computer, you don’ t have to backup drivers anymore. |
